EMUZAG

Electromagnetic Simulation for Particle Accelerators

Model accelerator components in 3D, calculate their time-domain electromagnetic response, and inspect beam wakes, impedance and material losses in a documented Studio + Solver workflow.

Set source and observation paths independently, then review the resulting fields and physical wake quantities. The current 1.1.1 workflow and its limitations are documented in the release guides.

EMUZAG is under active development. Commercial and evaluation access is arranged directly with companies, research institutions and individual users.

From setup to a solved field.

Watch the Studio workflow in motion: configure a case, launch the Solver, and inspect the resulting electromagnetic field and wake analysis.

Inside the run

Start with geometry, finish with evidence.

The release documentation shows the same workflow in Studio: keep the case together, build the mesh, run Solver, then inspect field slices and wake potentials.

From model to beam response

Follow a component from setup to measurable output.

Set up three-dimensional geometry and material behaviour, calculate time-domain fields, and inspect wake voltage, impedance, material losses and supported waveguide scattering in the documented EMUZAG workflow.

Model with context

Inspect geometry and mesh before a run.

Build or import supported component geometry, assign material and surface roles, and review geometry diagnostics, mesh views and material-coefficient slices.

Choose what drives and what measures

Keep sources and observations independent.

Define one or more synchronous sources with signed charges, then set observation trajectories separately. An observation samples the calculated field; it does not add another exciting bunch.

Read results in physical units

Connect wake plots to beam response.

Review physical wake voltage in V, dipole and observation-gradient responses in V/m, and the mean and centred RMS spread across the bunch. Export displayed curves to CSV.

Release 1.1.1

Faster preparation and clearer wake completion.

EMUZAG 1.1.1 adds parallel mesh and material preparation and faster terminal integration for moving-mesh indirect wake calculations. Studio shows a distinct “Finalizing wake” stage and correctly reimports CSV curves with independent sample coordinates or unequal lengths. Windows and macOS packages include the runtime modules, four guides and reference examples. Versions 1.1.0 and 1.0.2 remain available.
